Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk & Peter Joehnk


Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk, together with her husband & partner Peter Joehnk, founded their interior architecture studio JOI-Design, a European leader in creating unique & meaningful hospitality destinations – on land and at sea. Launched in 1984, the studio now has three talented partners to continue Corinna and Peter’s forty-year legacy whereas the two of them stay in their new role as brand ambassadors & senior advisors – while also being more involved in the partner office they founded in 2018: JOI-Design India, based in Mumbai. Under Corinna’s & Peter’s guidance, JOI-Design has worked on more than 1.000 hotel projects around the globe and has been honoured with more than 150 international awards.

Corinna & Peter know it both, the ups and the downs that come while living a mission and creating with passion, “…. but it was all worth it!” they confirm with a smile. The energetic couple is still active and present in their beloved hospitality industry nowadays: Corinna as a keynote speaker, consultant, and member of various international design juries – and Peter having founded two new companies recently: ID-Developers, a consultancy practice as well as Inner Circle Hospitality, a speakeasy platform for leaders in hospitality. Peter on top initiated & organized his first conference on a larger scale with ID-Developers this year in Hamburg: The Green Hospitality Conference, a matter of their heart.
