Atelier für Sonderaufgaben

Frank and Patrik Riklin are Swiss concept artists and twin brothers. In 1999 they founded their own artistic enterprise Atelier für Sonderaufgaben [studio for special tasks] in St.Gallen, Switzerland. The Riklin Brothers are well known for creating intriguing art projects outside of the classical art world system space by collaborating in at times transformative ways with other companies, organizations and communities.

Projects are funded by collaboration partners as well as foundations, public money, or art performances and lectures. One of their most visible and defining projects has been the Null Stern Hotel [zero star hotel] as a new category in the hotel industry, for which the Riklins in 2008 transformed a Nuclear bunker into the first zero star hotel and then reinvented the piece in a Land art version in 2016, installing rooms without walls and roof in the Swiss mountain landscape.
